Cultivating Wo men’s Resilience
Join the UTUUC Women’s Connection for the 2 025 Women’s Retreat at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, IL. We wi ll again offer options to attend the retreat for the whole weekend as well as Saturday only (commuter).
The featured Saturday morning activity w ill be “A World Café: Cultivating Women’s Resilience” facilitated by Anne White*. The World Café is designed to encourage participants to hold authe ntic conversations around questions that matter most. Our World Café will enable participants to share what resilience means to them, individually, a nd as part of the broader connection of women. Together, we will cultivate ways to face life’s challenges, create strategies for overcoming obstacles, and foster networks for ongoing support for the future. We welcome you to be part of this journey of cultivating resilience among women. The gather ing won’t be the same without you!
*Facilitator Anne White has design ed and guided previous World Cafes at Unity Temple including Cafes for the Unity Temple Women’s Connection. Anne creates a safe space where participa nts are encouraged to be the “keynote” speakers of their lives. She is a n onprofit executive having spent more than three decades creating organizati onal and community change with a focus on leadership development. Anne is a trained group facilitator and has designed/coordinated many leadership tr aining programs. She has been an active member of Unity Temple since movin g to Oak Park from Washington, DC in 2008.
This year’s retreat will i nclude two workshop sessions Saturday afternoon. Some offerings are Guided Imagery, Loving Kindness Meditation, Drum Circle, Felties, Recharging Your Resilience through Nature., The Power of Awe, Linoleum Block Prints, Deep Dive into Resilience and Stories of Resilience. All retreat registrants wil l receive via email descriptions of workshops in January and will then be a ble to indicate workshop preferences.
In addition, we will have our c raft table, Dance Friday, Saturday Sharing Show, massage, yoga and labyrint h. We will also include our Spiritual Ceremonies and gatherings: Friday eve ning Ingathering, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning closing.
Week end registration includes five meals (one Friday, three Saturday and one Su nday). All rooms have a full bath, and two twin beds. Check-in time is 5:00 -7:00 on Friday-notify us if you are going to be later. You may register to have a room as a single, or as a double with a roommate (see prices below) . We are anticipating on having plenty of bedrooms available to give women their choice of single or double, but this is not guaranteed so register ea rly!
Saturday only registration includes 3 meals. Saturday check-in i s 7:00-8:45 am.
SCHOLARSHIPS: If you would like to attend but would require some financial assistance, please contact Maureen Crotty in confid ence at 708-603-5560 by JANUARY 16, 2025. Funds are limited, but we will t ry to help those who apply and register by the deadline.
